The 19th Edition of the EkoSkola Parliament
May 12, 2025Under the auspices of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr Anglu Farrugia, Nature Trust – FEE Malta hosted the 19th edition of the EkoSkola Parliament, bringing together 52 students from 26 schools and 19 MPs to engage in a dynamic policy discussion.
The event, held on 9th May 2025, served as a platform for young voices to address critical issues shaping Malta’s future, particularly those outlined in the Malta Vision 2050 framework. Students passionately debated key topics, including environmental protection, urban development, public transport improvements, and preparing for global changes.
A highlight of the session was the tabling of recommendations formulated during the 13th EkoSkola Young People’s Summit, in collaboration with the Climate Action Authority. These proposals reflected the students’ call to be actively involved in policy decisions that will impact their quality of life, today and beyond 2050.
For 23 years, Nature Trust – FEE Malta’s EkoSkola programme has championed student participation, fostering sustainability and engagement in national education policies. This latest session reaffirmed the commitment to empowering youth as proactive contributors to Malta’s future.
