We created a hashtag which will be used by students, parents and staff who participate in the Earth Hour initiative. The children have been given a set of activities they can do at home , including colouring a poster on the tablet. They will share a photo of this once the hour passes, online with the hashtag #LightsOUTMostaB. We also passed on the message that this initiative should guide us to helping out with climate change every day.

St Francis School, Victoria – Ms Stephanie Mercieca
For Earth Hour at school we switched off all the lights, interactive whiteboards and computers for one hour. On the day we took meter readings and compared to consumption to that of other ‘normal’ days and found that we managed to use 13% less electricity!

St Ignatius College, Żebbuġ Primary – Claire Bezzina
Students and staff at school will take notice of all the lights switched on in rooms where no lessons are being held. Lights will be obviously switched off.
Every student will take the pledge to consume less electricity and water. Morning assemblies will make all the staff and students aware of the necessity to take more care of our planet.
